5 Reasons to have a Pro account on Soundcloud

Updated on January 12, 2015

If you're a DJ who is just starting out, I suggest you spend your money on improving your skills also investing in equipment and time.

If you are one of the lucky few DJs who at least has a regular monthly income from it is worth paying for such a pro service on Soundcloud, The following information will be very helpful to you.

A lot of people especially DJ's consider paying for a premium account on Soundcloud is a waste of money and has no benefit. I totally disagree with this statement and will summarize the 5 reasons I believe a Pro Soundcloud account with benefit you.

1. Having a Pro account shows people you are serious

Simply having a Pro account doesn't put in in the upper echelon of producers but it will make you stand out more than if you have a standard account. Fellow DJs will see you as potential partners and you are more likely to get invites to gigs and events where other people will get to know who you are. People will also take you more seriously and more likely to get more followers and comments, which leads to more plays.

When people pays money to hire professional DJs they want to make sure that they hire somebody who is very serious about it.

2. Pro Prices have dropped considerably

Soundcloud has not only reduces the plans but they have simplified things two. There are now just the two plans. The lower limited cost of 6 hours upload time for $55 a year or the Pro unlimited plan with unlimited uploads for $135 a year.

These are very competitive prices and should be taken advantage of as soon as possible. The more expensive plan of course if the most convenient however if your uploads are small then go with the cheaper plan.

You can also pay per month but it works out more expensive over the 12 months.

3. Voted the best music sharing service

Of course there are many alternatives to SoundCloud however SoundCloud still remains at the top in terms of volume, quality of users and speed of interface. The SoundCloud player can be smoothly imported into any webpage or blog.

4. Everyone is on SoundCloud

SoundCloud has because a household name in terms of digital streaming and sharing. Upcoming DJ's at famous venues nowadays with normally have a Pro SoundCloud account. The Pro DJs know that this is the platform to allow your music to reach the masses around the globe.

Even as an unknown you can easily reach millions through SouCloud due to the tagging system. SoundCloud streams in the music through extremely fast server so people even on the move whether it be 3G, 4G or Wi-Fi can quickly hear a sample of your work.

5. Pro Accounts have advanced tools

One of the better tools Pro users can take advantage of is the listener statistics.

With Pro you find out the geographics or your listeners e.g. the area of common visitors, what genres of listeners of coming to your page, what percentage or leaving comments and so on. With this information, you are able to tweak things to get more fans and listeners.

Conclusion

As your DJing career progresses to point when you start making cash, you will definitely need to invest in these type of social platform to get to the next stage because that's what everybody else does. If you don't you will be lost in the midst of the hundreds and thousand of DJ / Producers out there.

And remember it is a "Cloud" service so your productions or safe stored on the servers. Therefore it is an excellent deal going Pro especially for the service you get.

The free account is good but has it's strict limits. Break that barrier and get noticed along with the elite. Make sure you do actively comment on other peoples work too, in order to get noticed and comments back. Activity in the SoundCloud community is encouraged, not just uploading mix-tapes.
